Morning routines prime you for success. This ensures you think more clearly and do the work that actually matters. Routines will not let you stumble throughout the day but instead makes you get things done. Motivation can only take you so far, discipline will take you the rest of the way. A routine is a sequence of actions that you do repeatedly. If you want to be a high achiever, you must make excellence a routine, and that starts with the moment you wake up.
Here are some of the best ways to start your day and prepare for success:
1) Wake up early in the morning. This ensures increased productivity with fewer distractions and greater creativity because your mind is fresh for the day.
2) Making your bed is one habit that is a small task you can accomplish first thing of the day. This small task will let you accomplish more tasks throughout the day and reinforces the fact that little things matter. If you can't do the little things right, you'll never be able to do the big things right.
3) Recite your affirmations. This is to give your subconscious a positive belief and behavior that you can use throughout the day. If you visualize the good things, then good things will come.
4) Exercise. Exercising in the morning increases your blood flow, releases endorphins, and strengthens your body. Your overall energy levels will increase and helps keep you healthy.
5) Eating a proper breakfast. The fuel you consume in the morning has a significant effect on your ongoing performance. Carbs and protein will give you energy needed for the day to make good decisions.
6) Taking a cold shower. A cold shower will increase blood flow and kickstart your day. It is more effective then caffeine and if you make it a habit, you can completely cut out that regualar coffee in the morning.
